Staff Spotlight - Meet the Teach: Joe Harris, Lead Middle School Teacher
NHSAL welcomes teacher in the new school year!

Joe has been a Montessori Middle School teacher since 2010 and came to teaching as a second career - one that is an extension of his passion for being a lifelong learner. He also relishes the ability to positively impact the lives of young learners’ academic successes.

Joe is an avid reader with interests in politics, history, and environmental issues. His first harvest in his first Montessori school and the first class graduation his students achieved are his two proudest Montessori moments.

Joe’s favorite Montessori quote is “The child has a different relation to his environment from ours, the child absorbs it. The things he sees are not just remembered; they form part of his soul. He incarnates in himself all in the world about him that his eyes see and his ears hear.”

When not at school, Joe enjoys photography, outdoor activities, and music. He would love to return to Australia to do a Walkabout, and his favorite book is "The Book Thief." #snhma

Meet Miss Sarah
Early Childhood Teacher

Sarah Creese attended the Andover (MA) School of Montessori as a child and has fond memories of the warmth and community of the Montessori classroom. She was eager to recreate those same feelings as a teacher and was drawn back to Montessori after teaching in a traditional school for several years. She loves teaching and says it can never be boring, because you make new friends to learn with every year! Sarah graduated from Wheaton College with a BA in English and completed her Montessori training at the Northeast Montessori Institute. In her spare time, she enjoys reading mystery and fantasy books and spending time with her best friends. Her favorite color is pink! #snhma
